Rio Tinto’s AutoHaul trains will improve operations, won’t cut jobs

The AUD 940mn (EUR 574.80mn USD 663mn) AutoHaul automated trains project of Anglo-Australian miner Rio Tinto has shown “significant potential” to increase productivity and system flexibility and remove bottlenecks, said iron ore managing director (Rail, Port & Core Services) Ivan Vella. Notwithstanding the introduction of the trains, the company does not plan job cuts in 2019.
