More than 42.5mn passengers used the services of the Polish long-distance train company PKP Intercity during the first 11 months of 2018. It is expected that the figure will grow to over 46mn people by the end of December 2018 which will mark a rise of 8% when compared to 2017. The company points out high demand for its services noted in the summer season when the number of its passengers increased by 8% to almost 13.5mn. Also, it reveals that almost 50% of its passengers purchased their tickets online in 2018, with all self-service channels (including the internet, ticket vending machines and mobile applications) being responsible for over 54% of its sales.
