Dutch rail transport services provider Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) has ordered 88 new sprinter trains from the Spanish manufacturer Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles for some EUR 400mn (USD 461.37mn). This increases the value of the investment in new trains and renovation of trains to EUR 3.5bn. All new 206 sprinter trains are to be in use early in 2023.
