France-based railway services provider Alstom Transport (Alstom) has received a deal from Canadian rail tour company Rocky Mountaineer to rebuild two more SilverLeaf cars. This marks the 12th and 11th SilverLeaf cars to be rebuilt by Alstom with the ninth and 10th cars to be delivered in March 2019. The work involves a detailed engineering review and design to install new heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve guest comfort, in addition to new curved and flat windows, providing guests with a 167% bigger viewing area than previously. The cars will be modernized to include installation of spacious seats, oversized dome windows plus a new interior that prolongs the car’s lifetime by a minimum 10 years.
